It actually provides a countdown to Christmas (and beyond) with a reading for each day of the month of December.Each day's reading includes a verse (or a few verses) of scripture, some devotional thoughts, lyrics and background information from a song (mostly Christmas songs), and a recipe for a Christmas treat -- either for eating or pampering. The readings are fairly short and quick to read, a nice thought to start or finish the day without requiring a lot of time to be added to an already busy time. Some entries offer suggestions to help make your holiday season more enjoyable or meaningful, while others are generally uplifting for any time of year. The daily selections could easily be enjoyed alone or shared during family time.
